Deadline: June 2, 2023
OTA seeks members interested in nomination to the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) orthopaedic specialty section. The COT develops programs that support injury prevention and ensure optimal patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
Interested candidates should have demonstrated expertise and commitment to the care of injured patients and must be Fellows of the American College of Surgeons. The COT values dynamic individuals who will be energetic participants and interact well within its structure, which is organized into sub-committees that address the areas of education, quality and advocacy. Initial appointment is for a three-year term. Central COT members are required to attend two of three annual meetings each March and two of three meetings during the ACS Clinical Congress each fall during their term.
Upon your nomination, ACS will begin the candidate application process which will culminate in a review by the COT Membership Committee in late July/early August. Each candidate will be asked to provide 3 written letters of support in addition to the initial nomination, as well as a CV and a completed profile/application form in advance of that July meeting. Following their deliberations, the Membership Committee will present a slate of nominees who must be approved first by the COT Executive Committee and then by the American College of Surgeons Board of Regents.
Please submit a letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by June 2.
